Our Story
Mars HomeBase Organization dedicated to developing all the essential technologies for human settlement on Mars. We welcome collaboration with like-minded individuals, institutions, and business organizations who share our vision and passion for this endeavor. All the technologies developed by Mars HomeBase are released under an open license or open patent format, with the sole aim of benefiting mankind. Our mission is to create a sustainable and inclusive future for humanity beyond Earth
Mars HomeBase Organization is working on the development of technology based on Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) methodology and Collaborative Engineering to achieve the goal of sustainable and habitable human settlement on planet Mars. Our mission is to create an open, distributed and collaborative engineering environment to design and create a wide range of technologies, systems, tools, and infrastructure required for life and survival on Mars.
What we are doing are every little to big things to survive and thrive on Mars once we get there!
Our mission statement encapsulates it all: Mars by 2035. Based on the development pace and the current state of the space industry, it appears that SpaceX is well-positioned to meet its target of commercially deploying the Starship rocket by 2030 to Mars. SpaceX has emerged as a disruptive force, reshaping the rocket industry and introducing unprecedented changes. Imagine a world without SpaceX—relying solely on the same old and costly proposition -Proton, Soyuz, Ariane 5, Delta, and Atlas rockets, driving up costs significantly.
SpaceX vision of reusability has transformed the industry, making numbers like a reused cost of 10 to 50 million US dollars for a Saturn V class rocket (Starship) attainable, a feat unimaginable not long ago. With the problem of transportation to Mars almost resolved by SpaceX (and Blue Origin) on competitive commercial terms, the focus now shifts to developing the technology required for survival and exploration on Mars. This is the precise area of Mars Homebase’s concentrated effort—to achieve cost-effective solutions for the everyday needs of life on Mars!
